What is Vertex?
Vertex is a modern legal practice management platform purpose-built for the Indian legal ecosystem. It helps law firms and independent practitioners manage cases, track court dates, organize documents, collaborate with team members, and stay on top of deadlines — all from one place.
Who is Vertex designed for?
Vertex is built for Indian legal professionals, including:
- Solo practitioners managing their own caseload
- Small to mid-size law firms that need team collaboration
- Litigation teams that rely heavily on e-Court tracking
- Corporate legal departments managing high case volumes
Is Vertex available outside India?
Vertex is currently focused on the Indian legal ecosystem, including integration with Indian e-Court systems. While the core case and document management features work for any jurisdiction, features like e-Court integration are specific to India.
Is Vertex free to use?
During the beta period, all plans and features are completely free — no credit card required. After beta, Vertex will offer both free and paid plans. Early adopters will receive grandfathered pricing.
What platforms does Vertex support?
Vertex is a web-based application accessible from any modern browser on desktop, tablet, or mobile. Native mobile apps are on the roadmap.
How do I create an account?
Visit vertex.legal and click Get Started. You can sign up with your email address. Once registered, you can create or join an organization and start adding cases immediately.
What plans are available?
Vertex offers plans for both individuals and teams:

| Standard (₹399/mo) | 100 | 20 GB | Unlimited |

All plans are free during beta.
Can I switch between plans?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your organization settings. Changes take effect immediately. If downgrading causes you to exceed a plan's limits, your existing data is preserved — you just won't be able to add new items beyond the limit.
What happens when I reach my case or storage limit?
You'll receive a notification when you're approaching your limit. Once reached, you won't be able to create new cases or upload new files until you upgrade your plan or free up space. Your existing data is never deleted.
Can I buy additional storage?
Yes. Additional storage is available at ₹99 per 10 GB on Standard, Pro, Starter, and Pro (Team) plans.
How many organizations can I create?
You can create up to 1 free organization and up to 5 paid organizations per account.
How do Court Portals work?
Vertex connects to Indian court systems — including e-Court (all Indian district courts) and Kerala Courts — to pull case data, hearing dates, orders, and status updates. Once you link a case to its court record, Vertex automatically syncs updates so you always have the latest information without manual checking.
See the Court Portals page for details.
How do WhatsApp notifications work?
Vertex can send you case updates, hearing reminders, and deadline alerts directly to your WhatsApp. You'll receive notifications for upcoming hearings, new case updates from e-Court, and other important events.
WhatsApp notifications are available on all plans (with a monthly limit on the Free plan). See the Notifications page for details.
Can multiple team members work on the same case?
Yes, on Team plans. You can add team members to your organization and assign them to specific cases. Vertex supports role-based access control so you can define who can view, edit, or manage different parts of your practice.
See User Roles & Permissions for more details.
What file types can I upload?
Vertex supports all common document types including PDF, Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), images (JPG, PNG), and more. Files are organized per case and can be categorized for easy retrieval.
Does Vertex have a calendar?
Yes. Vertex includes a built-in calendar that shows all your hearing dates, deadlines, and appointments in one view. Hearing dates synced from e-Court appear automatically. You can also create custom events and set reminders.
Can I import existing case data?
If you have existing case data you'd like to migrate into Vertex, contact our support team and we'll help you with the import process.
What is the Weekly News Digest?
Every Sunday at 8:00 AM IST, Vertex publishes a curated roundup of the most important Indian legal news from the past week. Articles are sourced from 20+ publications (LiveLaw, Bar and Bench, SCC Online, and more), scored by AI for relevance, and organized into categories like Supreme Court, High Court, Kerala, and Legislation.
You receive the top highlights via Push and WhatsApp notifications, and can read the full edition in the app at any time. See the Weekly News Digest page for more.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Vertex takes data security seriously:
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Infrastructure is hosted on secure cloud providers
- Access is controlled through role-based permissions
- Regular backups ensure data durability
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export your case data and documents at any time. Vertex believes your data belongs to you — there's no lock-in.
What browsers are supported?
Vertex works on all modern browsers:
- Google Chrome (recommended)
- Mozilla Firefox
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari
We recommend using the latest version of your browser for the best experience.
Does Vertex work offline?
