Quick Start
Get up and running with Vertex in under 5 minutes.
Get your Vertex account set up and your first case created in a few simple steps.
During the beta period, all features are free — no credit card required.
Create your account
Visit vertex.legal and click Get Started. You can sign up using:
- Email & Password — enter your email, create a password, and accept the Terms of Service
- Google — sign in with your Google account
- Apple — sign in with your Apple ID
After signing up with email, you'll need to verify your email address via a link sent to your inbox.
Complete your profile
Once signed in, you'll be prompted to complete your profile:
- Full Name and Username
- Date of Birth (must be 18+)
- Account Type
- Phone Number — Indian (+91) numbers only, verified via a 6-digit OTP sent to your phone
- Profile Photo (optional)
Set up your organization
After completing your profile, create an organization — this is your workspace that holds cases, documents, and team members.
- Give it a name (e.g., your firm's name)
- Choose between Personal (solo use) or Team (multiple members)
- Select a plan — all plans are free during beta
You can create up to 1 free and 5 paid organizations per account.
Add your first case
There are two ways to add cases in Vertex:
Option A: Search from Court Portals
Navigate to Court Portals → e-Court → Search (or Kerala Courts → Search) from the sidebar. You can search by:
- CNR Number — enter the 16-character Case Number Record directly
- Case Number — select State → District → Court Complex → Case Type → Year → Case Number
Once found, save the case to your organization. It will automatically sync with the court portal for future updates.
Option B: Bulk import
Go to Court Portals → e-Court → Import, upload your case list, and Vertex will extract and import all cases automatically.
Option C: Create manually
Navigate to Cases → New Case and fill in the case details — court name, case type, case number, CNR number, filing details, hearing dates, and parties.
Upload documents
Open any case and go to the Files tab. You can:
- Drag and drop files or click to upload
- Create folders to organize documents
- Supports PDFs, Word, Excel, images, and more
Invite your team (Team plans)
If you're on a Team plan, go to Settings → Members to invite colleagues by email. Assign roles to control access:
- Owner — full control over the organization
- Admin — manage team, settings, and cases
- Billing — view organization and user details
- Member — standard access to cases and features
- Guest — limited, read-only access
