Notifications
How Vertex keeps you informed about your cases, hearings, and account activity.
Vertex automatically sends notifications to keep you informed about case updates, upcoming hearings, and important account events. There is no setup required — notifications are sent automatically based on activity in your account.
Notifications are fully automatic. There are no notification settings to configure — Vertex determines the right channels and timing for each event.
Channels
Vertex delivers notifications through four channels:

Not every event uses every channel — Vertex selects the most appropriate channels for each notification type.
Notification Types
Hearing Reminders
The most critical notification. Vertex sends reminders 3 days and 1 day before a scheduled hearing.
- Channels: Email, WhatsApp, In-App, Push
- Single case — details about the specific hearing including case number, court, and date
- Multiple cases — if you have several hearings on the same day, you receive a consolidated reminder
Hearing reminders are sent automatically at 7:30 AM IST each day for upcoming hearings.
WhatsApp hearing reminders are subject to your plan's notification limit. Free plans include 5 WhatsApp notifications per month. All paid plans include unlimited WhatsApp notifications.
Case Updates
- New hearing scheduled — when a new hearing date is set for a case you're assigned to (Email, In-App, Push)
- Case disposed — when a case receives a decision date (Email, In-App, Push)
- Case assigned — when you are assigned to a case (In-App, Push)
e-Court Import
- Import completed — when a bulk e-Court import finishes processing (Email, In-App, Push)
Account & Security
- Welcome — sent when you first sign up (Email, WhatsApp)
- Email verification — verification link for your email address (Email)
- Password reset — reset link when you request a password change (Email)
- New login detected — alert when a sign-in is detected from a new device or location (Email)
Organization
- Invited to organization — when someone invites you to join their organization (Email, In-App, Push)
- Organization deleted — when an organization you belong to is deleted (Email)
- Organization deletion scheduled — advance notice that an organization is scheduled for deletion (Email)
Other
- Weekly legal news — a curated digest of Indian legal news, published every Sunday (Push, WhatsApp). See the Weekly News Digest page for full details.
In-App Notifications
In-app notifications appear in the notification bell in the Vertex dashboard. You can:
- View all active notifications
- Mark as read — individually or all at once
- Archive — move notifications out of your active feed
- Unarchive — restore archived notifications
WhatsApp Notifications
WhatsApp notifications are sent to your verified phone number using pre-approved message templates. They include:
- Hearing reminders with case details, court name, and date
- Welcome message when you first join Vertex
- Weekly legal news digest with highlights and article count

Requirements
For notifications to work:
- Email notifications require a verified email address
- WhatsApp and Push notifications require a verified phone number
- Push notifications require the Vertex mobile app with notifications enabled
If a channel's requirement isn't met (e.g., phone not verified), Vertex skips that channel and uses the remaining available ones.
